Two more people died of Covid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, taking the total fatalities in J&K to 38, officials said.
The fresh fatalities include a 70-year-old man from Shopian and an 62-year-old woman from Jammu , they said.
A 70 year old Covid-19 patient from Shopian district died at CD hospital this afternoon, the officials said, adding the patient was suffering from various ailments like asthma and high blood pressure.An elderly woman from Miran Sahib Jammu, who had earlier tested positive for the pathogen died today at a hospital in Jammu, the officials said.
They said that the woman was admitted on 24 May at GMC Jammu and tested positive subsequently. “She was suffering from heart and orthopaedic problems,” they added.
With the latest fatalities, the death toll due to the virus in J&K has gone up to 38- 33 in Kashmir and five in Jammu.
So far Srinagar district with nine deaths due to the virus has the highest fatalities, followed by seven in Baramulla, five in Anantnag, four each in Kulgam & Shopian, three in Jammu, two in Budgam while one death each has been reported in Bandipora, Kupwara, Doda & Udhampur.
